Happy Monday! This past weekend, Jim and I headed back to our old stomping grounds near La Grange, Illinois and decided to hit up his favorite barbeque fare that came to the area when we lived near there a few years ago. Smoked, spiced, and everything nice, his love affair for Q-BBQ continued even after we moved and I once surprised him with a $1 sandwich at his work when they were celebrating their anniversary.
During yesterday’s gorgeous weather, we knew it was the perfect opportunity to head out to Q, walk downtown La Grange (beautiful!), and the boys could catch a little Pokemon. Q-BBQ was just as delicious as Jim remembered and he got like a 300 meat plate or something like that. Chicken wings, pulled pork, brisket, and more – Q-BBQ has something for everyone including the little Q-lovers (chicken strips, mini sliders, and delicious homemade Mac-Q-roni!)
I opted for the Western Salad topped with shredded chicken and drizzled with their specialty sweet BBQ blend. Jim enjoyed a variety plate with cornbread, hush puppies (HUBBA HUBBA), and BBQ baked beans that had been smoked up to an hour. Fresh cut french fries, homemade cookies, and bottle barbeque sauce to go (spicy, sweet, Memphis) – the deliciousness starts when you’re driving down La Grange road and the smells first hit you.
But don’t take our word for it! Nope, we weren’t paid to say this, we just wanted to share a bit about a “little” BBQ joint that we remember from our early family years and how Jim is still very much in love with the scents of barbeque. Ready to try your hand at some smoked eats?
