My work weekend in Chicago was full of must-eats, but we also found some other great Chicago highlights that are great when visiting, for date night, or to see the city in a new way!
{Forgive the grainy pictures in advance – it was dark and I was taking pictures with my phone’s camera}
To view the city at night and catch the fireworks, we opted for Shoreline Sightseeing’s Architecture Fireworks Tour – a beautiful boat and with gorgeous weather – the clear skies made the perfect backdrop for our day.
Docking is on the North side of the Chicago River (we learned the hard way!)
Look at this view, absolutely gorgeous – again, we have the best city!
Waiting in line picture-taking – this only took 37 takes because I’m picky. My friend, Erin, just about threw my phone in the river after this.

And we’re off – Architecture Tours are my favorite – beautiful ways to see the city, learn about the history, and especially at night, the buildings are lit up and gorgeous. Our skyline is AMAZING!
Love this Navy Pier view! Perfect viewing of the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel + Fireworks!
The boat made for unique viewing of the fireworks – absolutely gorgeous, just sitting lazily in the water, and watching the sky light up!
And last, but not least, one last view of the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel where our love story first began – this is the new one, so we definitely have to get there this summer to recreate that moment!
The Shoreline Sightseeing Fireworks Tour docks on the north side of the Chicago river and cost varies depending on the day. You can purchase tickets online (recommended) or at the booth near the docking station. Tours are on Saturdays and Wednesdays, weather permitting.
Have you ever seen Chicago through the eyes of a boat cruise?
