I was asked to be part of the Netflix #StreamTeam and share posts each month based on my experience. We are longtime Netflix users and cannot wait to share our experiences with you! All opinions are of course are own!

A New Year, Fresh Starts, so why am I so busy living in the past? I recently divulged a series of movies that were from my childhood & teenage years that I had not yet seen. What followed was lambasting from some of closest friends and family pledging to disown me and the like for not “keeping up with the times” of 25+ years ago. (Like that time I watched Friends for the first time 20+ years after it first aired…)
The closest thing to a two-piece that I’ve ever worn. I am cooler than you could have ever imagined with that suntan lotion on my noise. Also, the party was indoors, so the lotion was just for show.
So what’s a girl to do when she can’t literally jump into a time machine and travel back to the years of 80s favorites? Take a trip with Netflix to catch up on all I missed and ensuring that I will once again find companionship with those who claim to love me. It’s New Year and time to get back to the Old Me.
This is not me in the 80s. This is what I imagine I would have been like had I lived the 80s to their full potential. I realize this might give you nightmares.
Up first? Top Gun!
I won’t spoil it for you if you’ve seen it. But Val Kilmer in his prime. The Beach scene. Men in uniforms. And a love story. I finally understand all those Maverick, Iceman, and Viper references.
I’ve seen most of this one. Winona Ryder + Christian Slater with a side of Shannen Doherty. Does it get any better than this?
Shocked yet? KIDDING! I’ve seen this one. In its entirety. More than once. PHEW!
I somehow saw this much earlier than I probably should have. I don’t remember why or when, but I remember dancing like a Maniac.
I have never seen this. For real. Just keep scrolling. I know what I’ll be adding to my queue this month.
Shirley MacLaine, Jack Nicholson, and I’ve never seen it. Basically, I’m the worst.
So apparently, I still haven’t caught up to where I need to be, but thankfully, Netflix will help me get there. I can already see my queue growing by the minute…
But apart from these flicks that have me dreaming of yesteryear, I’m most excited for this started-in-the-80s classic to be a little fuller on Netflix this upcoming month! (And yes, I’ve SEEN this one!)
What show or movies can you catch on Netflix that might give you points with your friends?

OMG I’ve already cleared my calendar for binge watching Fuller House. I wish the original was on Netflix. I have a couple seasons on DVD but not the whole series. my boys actually like it and it’s nice to watch as a family as there really isn’t much on currently that is GOOD family viewing.
