We love our partnership with Shutterfly and how versatile the service is to bringing our prints to life! All opinions expressed are our own.
Every Christmas and as the year gets close to January, one of my favorite things to do is look ahead to the following year and plan my calendar for the next year using our favorite pictures for the year. I generally like to snag these at the beginning of January because then I can ensure that ALL of my holiday pictures are ready to go!
I’ve put together some tips and tricks, along with some of my Shutterfly favorites to make your calendars the best yet!
1. Use familiar faces.
Apart from incorporating your own family, if you are gifting the calendar, use a picture of the person you are giving it to or one of them with your kids for their birthday month. They will LOVE seeing that familiar face and surprise when they get to that month.
2. Think holidays.
I LOVE THEMES! and holidays and more! My kids definitely love playing along and I love creating the perfect themes each month. If you don’t have a photo represented of that holiday prior to printing, it’s the perfect time for dress-up and getting creative with the kids!
3. Bright & vibrant!
The more colorful, the better. Don’t be afraid to pick up a dreary month with brights colors and pictures. The recipient will thank you!
4. Don’t forget one for yourself!
Did you have a favorite calendar for yourself? Don’t forget to print one off for yourself! It will definitely come in handy when it comes to activities, meal planning, and more, plus, it’s a lot more personal than one you can purchase at the store.
At the end of the year, save the pictures or put in a scrapbook to keep forever.
Here’s some of our Shutterfly favorites:
Desktop calendars are perfect for mom’s desk at home or for grandpa to take to work. I love the visual on these and this is one of my go-to gifting favorites.
Calendar posters are great because they are large, visual, and fill a 20×30 space. I LOVE this view, but it doesn’t offer quite as much personalization.
