This blog post is sponsored by Walgreens but all opinions are my own.
Oftentimes, as parents we focus so much on the health of our children that we forget to take care of ourselves. Walgreens takes the guess work out of the immunizations and helps you prepare for the seasonal flu so that you can remain healthy and enjoy your family! Not only does the Get a Shot. Give a Shot.® campaign help you, but in the process, you also help others!
Through the Get a Shot. Give a Shot.® campaign, for every flu shot or other immunization you receive at Walgreens, you will help provide a life-saving vaccine to a child in a developing country through the United Nation Foundation’s Shot@Life Campaign.
Last year, I had the privilege of traveling abroad to Zambia, Africa to build homes in Chipulusuku – a small village there. In anticipation, I needed vital immunizations to protect against disease and other health concerns. Even more so, this community and its children could highly benefit from lifesaving immunizations.
The opportunity to help families was even more magnified by the need for immunizations in advance and the opportunity to give even more by being immunized through the Walgreens campaign Get a Shot. Give a Shot.®.
Think you can’t make a difference? Check out the simple statistics when it comes to how immunizations can save lives. Walgreens alone has donated 7 million lifesaving vaccines!
To give back, simply head to your local Walgreens or Healthcare clinic – perfect for when the kids are back in school or when you’re running your daily errands. The flu shot vaccine is now available at all Walgreens and Healthcare Clinic locations and is offered until March 2016 – so you have plenty of time to get in and give back!
The process is simple and the waiting room is comfortable and inviting, so the process of getting a shot is streamlined and designed to keep you at the corner of happy and healthy!
With knowledgeable staff and professionals, you can feel confident that you’re getting what you need while also giving back to those in need – just for taking care of yourself! Walgreens also offers a variety of flu shot options. Just ask a Walgreens pharmacist to see which flu shot might be the right option for you!
Adorable faces are counting on you!
What month do you usually receive a flu shot?
From July 1, 2015 to August 31, 2016, for every immunization administered, Walgreens will donate $0.18 to the United Nations Foundation, up to a maximum donation of $2,000,000. For more information, go to Walgreens.com/GetaShot. Vaccines subject to availability. State-, age- and health-related restrictions may apply.

I don’t usually get a flu shot – but I LOVE this program! It’s so nice to be able to give back while you care for yourself.
