We received complimentary tickets to see Blue Man Group at the Briar Street Theatre in Chicago. All opinions expressed are our own.
Vivid memories of sitting in the front row of Blue Man Group during our early dating years and a trip to Universal Studios with a special look showing, our love for Blue Man Group spans years and states.
This multi-sensory show is sure to have you engaged, animated, and full of life as you watch the colors, music, and musical talent wow you with their abilities. The show has changed throughout the years that I’ve seen it – all for the good. They’ve added digital and technological elements that really wow and engage the crowd. I haven’t laughed so hard at a show in a while and the crowd atmosphere was amazing! We sat near the back with an awesome view of the stage and action, so I was thankful that twinkies didn’t make their appearance on my clothes!
The music, drumming, and interaction is outright amazing! Their skill level while covered in blue is something to be admired and we learned quite a bit more about what goes into the show when we were able to interview a Blue Man and one of the men from the instrument trio. Both of them have been involved in the show for YEARS and the audition and training process used to be pretty cumbersome. Finding a Blue Man can be especially difficult, bringing together droves of eager potential blue men, but sometimes resulting in no new members.
My FAVORITE FAVORITE FAVORITE (have I said that enough?) part of the whole night is definitely this. Shake Your Euphemism is sure to get you up and out of your seat, dancing with the crowd. The big colorful balls, confetti, streamers, and party atmosphere is the perfect way to end the night. I even looked up the song on YouTube later because I loved it that much. I could definitely see how this would be a perfect date night out or a party out with friends.
Shows are offered throughout the week at various times and range in price. You can purchase tickets on their website and also learn more about other offerings, such as dinner options, VIP opportunities and other special events, such as their specially planned night in partnership with Autism Speaks to create an environment on a special night (October 4th this year) that’s family friendly for everyone.
