A girls’ night out is always a great excuse to get together and reconnect! Recently, my friend, Kelly, and I, headed to Revolución Mexican Steakhouse for a great night out with a Two Brothers Beer Tasting and menu pairing. The locale was just a few blocks from Lake Shore Drive and located in a bustling part of the city. The restaurant itself was BEAUTIFUL with a great space, patio, and huge windows that provided great natural light.
The menu was expansive, including some great options for our pairing, and delicious eats!
First course was Baja Fish Tacos Paired with a Sidekick Extra Pale from Two Brothers.
The Beer-Battered White Fish Tacos were served with red cabbage, chipotle mayo and pico de gallo and were DELICIOUS! I’m not usually a huge fan of tacos with fish, but these were a home run. The flavors were great together and the crunch of the cabbage was the perfect accompaniment to the fish.
The main course was Pollo Borracho (Drunken Chicken) & Domaine DuPage.
The Pollo Barracho was grilled chicken breast served with Mexican rice and topped with salsa Borracha and finished with sweet green peas and banana peppers. This dish brought the HEAT and the accompanied beer was a great way to cool things down a bit. Moist and full of flavor, this dish was one of my favorites!
The last course was Bolita de Cerveza & Ebel’s Weiss. A creamy sorbet with orange, vanilla bean and banana, including an orange reduction sauce and vanilla bean strips. This was smooth and although chocolate is usually my flair, this dessert was refreshing and the flavors worked very well together!
A view of the night sky on the ceiling of Revolución and great attention to details. It was a beautiful sight to see!
The dinner includes three courses, a beer paired with each, tax and gratuity. Nothing to figure out at the end of the night and you’re all set! This also included a raffle for a free Two Brothers Brewery tour – no luck this time around, but maybe next time! The Chef explained why he selected the pieces he did and how they love to feature local brewers in their pairing events. You can catch all the special events on their website!
This was the perfect night out to enjoy the city, some delicious eats and learn a bit more about Two Brothers Brewery in Warrenville, Illinois. We will definitely be back to visit Revolución!
