We received our own Outdoor Lantern for review and for banishing bugs, but all opinions expressed are our own!
Summer is in full swing and the gatherings, barbecues, and get-togethers are taking off! The summer months mean a few things, sunshine, heat, and BUGS! After dark, during the day, they always seem to strike when we least expect it and myself and my little one seem to attract them the most! (Must be our sweet smelling skin…) I’ve put together some great ways to keep mosquitos at bay and ensure that you can enjoy your summer to the fullest without itching the day away!
1. Be Mindful of Stagnant, Standing Water
Whether it’s collecting in a garbage pail or a low part of your lawn, be mindful of large puddles of water, especially after significant amounts of rain. The water can pool and quickly becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes! Be proactive and protect yourself and your space to make sure they are not welcoming mosquitos with open arms!
2. When possible, where long sleeved, light and airy clothes.
Your clothing will help cover you a bit, minimizing the exposed skin that you have making it less likely for a mosquito to nab you. This might not always be possible with very hot weather, but keep it in mind!
3. Always consider mosquitoes a possibility.
Never underestimate where you might find a mosquito. Be cognizant, be prepared and be proactive.
4. Find outside sources to battle the bugs!
