Are you still on the fence about heading to SoFabU on the Road in Chicago on July 11th? Our city itself is enough of a reason to spend a weekend getaway and the conference is a huge added bonus! Here are just a few of the reasons why our city is the best and deserves a visit from you this summer!
The Bean
This famed artistic piece is the perfect place to capture a selfie in the city! Located in the confines of Millennium Park, this is a must-stop for any tourist visiting the city and one that is sure to give you a beautiful perspective of our city, while also giving you a pretty unique view of yourself. Make a day of it by scrolling the grounds of Millennium Park and grabbing a world famous Chicago hot dog for the road.
Arts and culture more your style? Our Museum campus includes the Shedd Aquarium, the Field Museum (as shown), the Adler Planetarium and further down Lake Shore Drive, the Museum of Science and Industry (my personal favorite). You can enjoy getting lost amongst the dinosaurs and spending some time in outer space. All without leaving the city limits!
The Chicago River
Whether you take an architectural cruise or simply walk along the river walk, enjoy the sights and sounds of Chicago on this waterway. Beautiful views all along the river make this a must-stop when you visit Chicago.
Extending from the Chicago shoreline, Navy Pier is a beautiful walkway to snag a boat tour, munch on Garrett’s popcorn and take in the city skyline. Beautiful weather calls for a trip on the Ferris Wheel (where I was engaged!) and exploring the walkway with outdoor eateries and the sounds of the water. Choose your visit wisely and you just might catch fireworks over the lake.
That Skyline though
With this picture showing just a segment, our skyline is worth a visit every time. Beautiful buildings reflecting on the lake makes this one of my favorite parts of the city. Sears Tower (tallest as pictured – don’t dare call it Willis) also offers a Skydeck that gives you a clear floored view of the city on the ledge, if you dare.

My programmer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP.
