‘Tis the season to be thankful and as the boys get older, I am watching them develop their own relationships and friendships along the way. It’s beautiful to see and the unique lessons and blessings that friendships hold are to be celebrated and lifted up. Talking to our kids about friendships is important, but for them to see friendships in action is even better. I’ve rounded up a few of our #Netflix #StreamTeam favorites for you to celebrate your own sort of “Friendsgiving” this year.
For the Littles
What better way to celebrate friends that with everyone’s favorite Muppets!? Sesame Street and the monster in red teach us all about the ins and outs of friendships and give your little ones a chance to see friends in action. Learning along the way and this childhood classic will definitely have you cherishing the ones you love.
For the Growing Ones
This beautiful friendship story that came out around my childhood (don’t count) is one I remember and cherish forever. The struggles of growing up and developing relationships is real and My Girl captures that awkwardness to the nth degree. Share this with the pre-teen and young teens in your life or take a trip down memory lane to enjoy all the awkwardness of those puberty years.
For Mom & Dad
This campy cult classic will take the unique relationships once we become adults and touches on common topics that we can all identify with in one way or another. Ms. Deschanel steals the show, but don’t be fooled; the comedic timing and quips throughout will have you laughing along with the favorite friends in your life. This is one to share!
This unlikely addition to the Friendsgiving list will have you wanting to build your own illegal RV and break the law with your closest friends. Jesse and Heisenberg form a unique bond that illustrates a love/hate, but also co-dependence that only friends can understand. Sick and twisted view of friendship? Maybe. But addicting? Absolutely. Tune in!
