Month 1 || Month 2 || Month 3 || Month 4 || Month 5 || Month 6 || Month 7
This update is a week early. Or a month late, if you’re counting. August disappeared off my calendar. We went to Indianapolis, Jim went to Milwaukee, we went to Tennessee, I started teaching and summer nearly ran us off the road!
In the past week, I’ve amped up the game. I ran 14 miles around Lake Katherine (basically ran it a little over 14 times). It’s nothing if not repetitive and wood chips aren’t amazing, but the scenery is nice and I started setting little goals along the way – just get to the tree, run to the butterfly garden, pet the dog and so on.
That stuff is hard. And I walked like a cowboy the entire day. But the marathon is in SIX WEEKS. It’s go time.
I watched my friend, Julie, run a half marathon. And it reinvigorated in me why running rocks. Runners come in all shapes, sizes and speeds. They wear what they want to wear and don’t care. They SUPPORT each other. It’s not a competition in the traditional sense and everyone wants to help you cross the finish line. It has me PUMPED about October – even if the street sweepers push me the last few miles.
That mom above crossed the finish line with her daughter. It reminded me why I do this health journey. Not just for me, but for my family.
Here’s to the beginning of month 9. I’ll be back with weekly updates. Check out my awesomesauce pictures on instagram.
By the Numbers:
Since July 9th: +2 lbs (YUCK!)
Since December 9th: 45 lbs
Since heaviest: 65 lbs
Take it. Own it. Lose it! (For Good)
Only THREE MONTHS until my one year update. Think I’ve got this?!
