Happy TUESDAY! So lovely to see you again! This week was a crazy one and things are just settling down as we plan for the big garage sale this weekend which means LOTS of moving, heavy lifting and pricing! The summer is flying by and I can’t wait until it’s consistently warm and sunny enough to take dips in that pool.
Most notably this week, I completed my FIFTH physical activity this year – the Warrior Dash! (So far, I’ve done the Climb, the Oak Forest Fleadh, the Palos Half Marathon and the Run for Hope 5k). As my first year getting muddy, I was looking forward to joining the ranks of all the dirt-covered pictures I’ve seen from the past. I also spent some time dancing and sweating at concerts, including Summer Bash with Jason Derulo and his shirt-less self. Ahem.
If you check out their Facebook page, you’ll find that the Warrior Dash experienced its fair share of problems this year, especially on Saturday. Long wait times at the obstacles (we’re talking 20 minutes plus), long waits just about everywhere, lack of volunteers, and lack of water to hose off meant races that were pretty long. They weren’t timed, but I wished it had been (even though we guesstimated) and overall, the experience was lackluster. After talking with my cousin, her friend, and a few others who went on Sunday, apparently the Saturday experience was an anomaly. I’m not sure I would run again, but I would probably try to find something similar because the concept is pretty fun! Mud everywhere and I mean, everywhere.
Other than that, I was so happy to add another medal to the collection this year and look forward to a few more fun runs this summer! Have you tried the Warrior Dash? What did you love about it? Did you run this year?
