With two boys and plenty of diapers under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of rashes. One of the first things I hear from friends during the diaper years is how to rid those precious babes of rashes. I remember a vivid time when Charlie experienced a severe rash from a food to the point that his poor bum was sore! With Jack, it was a severe bout of sickness that had us trying the naked bum and run defense.
Each time, we tried the baths, bacitracin, talcum powder and other name-brand creams. The problems eventually subsided, but nothing seemed to provide that immediate relief we were looking for. Last year, I was introduced to Dr. Smith’s Premium Blend Diaper Rash Ointment. With a full resource center at hand, Dr. Smith’s also offers great advice for treating rashes and knowing what you’re looking for.
With our recent exit out of diapers, I was still looking for something that would help with stubborn sensitive rashes and Dr. Smith’s fit the bill perfectly. Also, as I started running these past winter months, I found that Dr. Smith’s was the right blend to also help with chafing, winter weather dry patches and calming to my sensitive skin. I find these areas are softer and the ointment is calming to the skin.
As you can see, the cream is thicker, protective and also protects skin from additional moisture while the area heals. The thick cream heals while it protects which is key both for little bums and my legs! Easy to find at Walgreens, you can grab it in a pinch when the need arises. It also makes a great addition to a shower gift and I continue to recommend it to friends that enter parenthood.
Even Bill & Giuliana Rancic stand behind Dr. Smith’s premium blend and they use it for baby Duke!
What are your fail-safe ways keep rashes at bay? We love Dr. Smith’s and continue to use it even past the diaper years!

Do you happen to know if it’s cloth diaper friendly?

We’ve had amazing success with Diaprex, an older brand we were happy to see back. Here is a link to their site: http://diaprex.com/ My friend uses it with cloth diapers and she loves it for her baby too.
