This Christmas, I asked Santa for a treadmill. After talking with my Marathon-running hubby, we decided to make the plunge for a machine that would enable him to train for any races he might run and me to finally tackle my lack of exercise. After researching, we ended up with a new machine from Amazon. Despite a plethora of delivery flubs (and the very next day our massive one-year-old television breaking), the treadmill arrived and was pretty simple to assemble. I jumped on and ran one mile. Knowing full well that the longest journey begins with a single step.
And so, strangely, I made this a priority all week. Whether it was during the day while the boys played or heading there at night when I normally would spend my time on the computer, I just did it. I instagrammed a few of the nights, watched Parenthood once or twice, and found tunes on YouTube to jam to (Pentatonix, anyone?) and after six days, I realized something. I had done intentional physical activity six days in a row. Was that even possible for me? I guess so.
And so begins the journey of a lifetime and to life-long health. Follow us on #thepeanutsgetslim on social media. I promise to update weekly or so. Eventually, we’ll get to the weight part of it š
Merry Christmas to me!

Glad it finally showed up!! Good for you. After I’m cleared for exercise I’m headed back to my treadmill, too.

Yeah! Hopefully I will be motivated to start using my old treadmill collecting dust!

I know I’ve already beat you down with how much I love this but I LOVE THIS idea. I don’t know why it never dawned on me but I’m so glad you started this. Just the fact that I don’t want to NOT miss a treadmill photo op for my weekly collection makes me want to get on the treadmill. And I want my picture to be good so I bust butt on that thing. And knowing that you are in the treadmill trenches with me really does motivate me to get on that thing. I’m truly really thankful for that. You’re awesome.

Oh and I am with you with the “we’ll get to the weight part later”. I’m not even weighing myself till March I’ve decided. Three months of really working out and doing this thing and then I’ll see where I’m at. For the first time in my life it’s not about the weight as much as it’s about my health and training for those 13.1 miles. It’s amazing how clear and easy it is when you REALLY want it. Okay I’m done now.
