Illumination: Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum is a dynamic new light exhibition where you control the experience. This all-ages, interactive event will let guests explore the Arboretum’s incredible grounds at night and see how trees transform the environment. Hug a tree to make it glow, use a touchpad to control what you see, and more.
From November 22, 2013 to January 4, 2014, Illumination offers a holiday experience far beyond traditional twinkling lights, engaging the senses with dazzling projections, trees that respond to touch and sound, and vivid, electric colors throughout.
Illumination will be open from November 22 through January 4. The event opens each night at 4:30 p.m. with the last entry at 8:30 p.m. Illumination will be closed on November 28 and December 2, 9, 16, 24 and 25.
Event tickets go on sale October 1 online, and advance purchase is encouraged. Nonmember ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for children 2 to 17 years old. For Arboretum members, prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children 2 to 17 years old. The event is free for children under 2. Visitors are encouraged to dress for the weather as this is an outdoor experience.

I am thankful for all those who are serving in the military or have served. For those who made the ultimate sacrifice and never made it back home. Without them having made that sacrifice everyones lives could be completely different. For that I will be forever grateful.
I am so blessed and thankful to have a selfless, generous, loving and supportive Mom who has been my motivation and inspiration to complete a degree that would have been impossible otherwise. I am blessed and thankful for a wonderful, kind and loving fiancée who has an incredibly warm, wonderful family who have welcomed me with open arms and supported me as well. I am greatful also for the opportunity to go to an excellent school where I have been gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to soon (31 days away but who’s counting?) be able to embark on my career as an RN, which will grant me the ability to embrace and pursue my passion and love of taking care of people. I am also grateful for my awesome friends and family who have been there for me through thick and thin. And last but certainly not least, I am grateful to God, for it is through Him that all things are possible.
I am thankful that we are all in good health–finally! This is the first holiday season in years that we can say that!
I’m thankful for all the health of my children and the fact that I get to be their mom. It is the biggest blessing/challenge I’ve had thus far in my life and I wake up every morning remembering how lucky I am. And for a husband who is an amazing father to my children and my best friend.
AND…for whoever decided that peanut butter and chocolate should forever be together in delicious sweet creations.
