With two friends being diagnosed with breast cancer in the last year, it’s hard to ignore the month of October. Whether it’s raising awareness, informing people, or getting checked out myself, Breast Cancer is something that affects all of us in one way or another.
Recently, I was asked to design a shirt for the upcoming Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on October 26th.
The shirt design is simple. I asked my Facebook friends to give me the names of friends & family that had battled breast cancer. Within a matter of minutes, I had accumulated over 40 names and knew I wanted to honor them in some way. You can find each name within the heart around the ribbon. I quickly found that breast cancer affects us all – our mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, nieces, friends, grandmothers. No person is exempt from the effects. All the more reason for us to join together in spreading awareness about this awful cancer.
