Charlie received a gift card to check out the new Children’s Place Back to School line of clothing. All opinions expressed are our own and the facial expressions are uniquely his own. Or Zoolander’s.
Last year, we jumped headfirst into school days when we sent Charlie to preschool. This year, he’s on his way to Pre-K and he couldn’t be more excited! The summer has seemed to fly by and now that August is upon us, it’s time to start thinking school! (On Instagram, some of my friends have already started sending their kiddos on their way!) I have fond memories of shopping with my mom for a back-to-school wardrobe and checking out the fall styles to wear. Back then, it usually included stripes, side ponytails & matching accessories.
As a mom of two boys (with plenty of nephews), I’ve often talk with moms about the lack of clothing options for boys. Most traditional stores have 47 racks for girls and three of the same tired looks for boys (trucks, BLUE, blah). I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only did the boys’ section of The Children’s Place take up about half the store, but that the styles available offered variety and an update to traditional looks.
Without further ado, our model & his ‘tude say it all:
With dark wash jeans and fun graphic tees, it’s easy to layer looks both for style & weather. We opted to top it with a plaid button-up because “that’s what daddy does” and the outfit was complete! Layering also means these tops can be worn alone or together and as a mom, the farther my clothes can go, the better it is for my budget.
Look 1:
Charlie can’t believe they had such a stellar Darth Vader shirt. Bonus: Daddy approved. The lighter washed jeans are also perfect for the season and work well as a neutral for most outfits.
Look 2:
This shirt was so popular that the only size left was one size bigger than Charlie wears. He HAD to have it and so I happily purchased it as one he would grow into.
Look 3:
This lightweight long-sleeved shirt is again perfect for layering or stand alone. I loved the way this shirt fit and the material was SO soft against his more-sensitive skin.
Enough said. {And yes, we also snagged some great brown shoes, but a lack of socks + boy feet means those shall be saved for the first day of school!}
Check out all the Back to School deals that The Children’s Place has going on right now! Pair those with a coupon and you have an even better deal. Without using a coupon, I snagged five shirts, two pairs of jeans, and a pair of shoes for under $100. His wardrobe for this year is versatile & perfect for school.
Have you found something you love at The Children’s Place? What are your child’s must-have wardrobe additions this fall?
