A few years ago, I decided to surprise my husband with a subscription to Gevalia Coffee monthly and received a coffee maker as well. A delicious brand of coffee that we love to this day is also the perfect way to help guests feel at home at a gathering. I recently hosted a morning play date at my house with some mom friends and their littles. As they played in the backyard, we tried out different treats and tested out the different flavors that Gevalia had to offer.
One of my favorite pairings with Gevalia is dessert! Safeway offers some delicious options to add to your party menu. These 50 pack (!!) of cookies was just $5 on special and came in yummy flavors like Chocolate Chip & Peanut Butter. This was wonderful to serve with our coffee, but also much appreciated by the littlest guests. Quick and easy to grab, there were even plenty leftover to share with family for a treat later. These would be great in a classroom or at a work potluck lunch.
If you’re serving a morning playdate, what about pairing Gevalia coffee with some Safeway muffins? Our favorite is definitely the Blueberry ones with some crystallized sugar on top. Pop them in the microwave for about 15 seconds to get them nice and warm for serving! The moms were literally FLIPPING over these muffins. No butter necessary, they were melt in your mouth yumminess that served as a perfect complement to the French Vanilla blend I had picked up at Safeway.
Originally started in 1853 in Sweden, cast-iron roasting develops a flavor that’s smooth and never bitter. My guests loved the fact that the grounds were extra fine and didn’t seem to clump or get lost in each cup. I chose my favorite flavor to share (Chocolate Mocha) and mixed with some smooth French Vanilla creamer. As the coffee cooled (as it usually does when I’m tending to my boys!), I decided to toss it over ice in my reusable cup and it was as delicious as when it was freshly made. Iced coffee ready-to-go at a fraction of the cost!
Another bonus for me is that Gevalia now comes in single serve cups for your Keurig® K-Cup® Brewer (Kraft Foods is not affiliated with Keurig, Inc. KEURIG and K-CUP are registered trademarks of Keurig, Inc). I like this option because unlike my husband who can drink coffee by the gallon mug, I prefer my coffee occasionally and only about one cup a day if that. Having Gevalia in a K-cup means I can enjoy it on a whim without wasting a couple cups of it! I bought a few different flavors and my friends were able to try different flavors without wasting a huge pot of coffee.
Have you tried Gevalia? What’s your flavor of choice? Do you prefer hot or iced?
