I had the opportunity to try out Chick-fil-A’s new line of fresh salads. I can honestly say they were delicious (and they didn’t even pay me to say that!)
In 2010, I tried Chick-fil-A for the first time in Florida. Spying the signature chicken “C,”, I’ve been hooked ever since. My absolute favorite menu item? Chick-fil-A sauce is addictive and when I recently found out about the 8 oz. tubs you get with catering orders? I was in heaven.
But alas you think all they have to offer is some sauciness, I also really love their chicken! (I suppose I should since the Cow always encourages me to “Eat Mor Chikin!”) Hand-breaded in-house, the chicken thawed and breaded fresh. Did you also know that their biscuits for their breakfast sandwiches are made fresh and actually cut with a biscuit cutter? No frozen hockey pucks here!
As a mom of little ones, I also appreciate that they offer a play area that’s professionally cleaned and easy to see when making playdates with other moms. I’ve had to climb up there a time or two and found it pretty easy to maneuver (thank goodness!) Charlie & Jack love heading there to snag an Applesauce pouch and play with their friends for a bit.
Now for the big news! Chick-fil-A has rolled out a new line of fresh salads! I had the opportunity to try all three and fell in love. Here’s a bit about each one:
Sliced grilled chicken, chopped romaine lettuce & baby greens, red cabbage, carrots, fresh apples, strawberries, & blueberries, crumbled blue cheese {add-ons: roasted nut blend, harvest nut granola, apple cider vinaigrette}
This salad is just 180 calories without the add-ons and accounts for 2 veggie & 1 fruit serving for your daily intake. I’m not a huge fan of blue cheese, but this salad pulled together tasted delicious! I loved the fact that the lettuce was fresh and not your typical brown iceberg.
Sliced, hot Chick-fil-A nuggets, chopped romaine lettuce & baby greens, red cabbage, carrots, mandarin orange segments {add-ons: honey-thai almonds, chinese & garlic ginger wontons, & honey sesame dressing}
Only 330 calories WITH fried chicken nuggets and this salad was scrumptious. One of the best parts about each salads is that the chicken comes hot and fresh on top and you can choose which kind you’d like to personalize it for your own tastes.
Sliced, hot Chick-fil-A nuggets, chopped romaine lettuce & baby greens, shredded red cabbage & carrots, roasted corn kernels, crumbled bacon, hard-boiled egg, shredded Monterey jack & cheddar cheeses, grape tomatoes {add-ons: charred tomato & crispy red bell peppers & avocado lime ranch dressing}
This was hands-down my favorite salad. At 430 calories prior to the crispy peppers and dressing, this is the perfect salad to snag and share. I love that each of these salads are prepared fresh as you order and that they are large enough to last you more than one meal.
What’s your favorite Chick-fil-A menu item?
Many thanks to the Chick-fil-A at Wheaton for hosting a fabulous event and giving us a behind the scenes look into how things get done. I also still haven’t cracked open that special sauce…saving it for a rainy day!
