Outback & Operation Homefront Honor Heroes

Photograph courtesy of Outback Steakhouse . Outback Steakhouse provided a delicious lunch and a gift bag in exchange for my promotion of the event & occasion. It was such an honor to be amidst such honorable men and women. 

Outback in conjunction with Operation Homefront (and the fabulous Tim McGraw!) hosted an event to honor some hometown hero veterans and their families. Operation Homefront provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors. They provide direct services to alleviate a military family’s or individual’s actual/complete emergency financial burden, as well as counseling and/or recovery support. With a slideshow commemorating families and a few inspiring words from Tim, the day was one filled with respect, honor, and awe.

 Outback Steakhouse was also gracious enough to provide the delicious lunch (think Bloomin’ Onion, pecans and blue cheese on a salad, steak & cake pops!) We were even treated to a surprise visit from Tim McGraw himself! He walked to each table, greeting the vets and thanking them for their service. He even swung by our table to say hello and nibble on some of our Bloomin’ Onion {I wanted to save that onion forever…}

This weekend, as you take time to fire up the BBQ, kick off summer, and the wrap-up of the school year, think about and thank a veteran – for their service, their dedication and their sacrifice – the true reasons behind Memorial Day.
