As a mom of two busy boys, I’m always looking for something to keep those little hands busy! Lakeshore sent me this magnet kit to review with Charlie and we fell in LOVE with it! All opinions expressed are our own.
As we move full swing into Spring, we’ve begun to experience those long rainy days. As Charlie and Jack get older, I’m also trying to focus on activities that they will love, but also keeps their minds active! At this age, it’s also especially imp0rtant to spend some of that learning time together. This is great when the littlest ones are napping (in my case, Jack) and you have time to really explore what’s inside the Lakeshore Magnet Kit ($49.99).
The kit covers the wonders of magnetism as your children make magnets float in midair, go on a magnetic scavenger hunt…even see how a magnet’s poles work! Kit comes with everything for unlimited exploration, including magnetic wands, horseshoe magnets, bar magnets & more. You also get 20 activity cards featuring exciting experiments, each with an explanation on back to reinforce key concepts & ideas! Over 100 pieces, all in a storage tub. This is is ideal for pre-k through 2nd grade (ages 4-7).
As a mom of a preschooler, I love that many of Lakeshore products can be used not only in the classroom, but also easily at home. This would make a great addition to your weekly lessons, homeschool curriculum or even just for fun! At this age, children are like sponges, soaking in all of the information they pick-up throughout the day! I have recommended this kit to several of my friends who are teacher and they all love the fact that it’s interactive, teaches some great ideas & concepts and that it cleans up easily when it’s time to move on to the next activity. I also recently purchased one of these to give as a birthday present (liking that I offered the little guy something a bit out of the ordinary!
Looking for something to do, but also getting out of the house? You can check out one of the Lakeshore retail locations and let your kids explore all it has to offer. While you shop and get ideas, they can be learning! This Saturday, May 4, 2013, they have a special Mother’s Day segment from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. complete with crafts and storytelling (hint, hint, dads!) This would be a wonderful time to give mom a break AND make her something for Mother’s Day!
