If you follow me on Facebook or know me in real life, then you know I am so honored to be in Chicago’s segment of Listen to Your Mother. Debuting this Sunday, this collection of stories will tug at your heart, have you laughing and most all make you cherish motherhood (whether you have a mother, know a mother or are one yourself).
As time progresses, I’ve begun to get the feeling that there will be some people who are very near and dear to me who will not be in the audience on Sunday. To them, I would say…
It matters to me.
It matters that you’ve known about my presence in this show since February and you haven’t made getting there on Sunday a priority.
It matters
that you haven’t inquired as to how practices are going, if I’m nervous, or just simply that you’re excited for me.
It matters
that I have celebrated your successes, cried with you during your trials, and supported you each step of the way.
Sunday matters to me.
It means something. It’s not just some hobby or something you can catch whenever it’s over.
It matters to me
that even if I can’t see you as I read my piece, it’s knowing that you’re there. Loving me, supporting me, and living life with me.
So if I haven’t said it before, I’m saying it now.
Listen to Your Mother means something to me.
And so it should matter to you.
Many thanks to those of you who have supported me in this endeavor every step of the way, especially my darling husband. To those who are coming, THANK YOU! This is no reflection to those of you who have been heartfelt in your reasons for not being able to attend on Sunday. Love you!

Family isn’t just those of blood. We are your family too, and we love you and are sending you support. I understand the frustration, though. Melisa and I are reading together and love you.

I “get” this COMPLETELY.
I have family members who have never even read my blog.
And I have been blogging for almost three years.
I cannot wait to meet you on Sunday!!!!
