Ever since he snagged a little book at a birthday party, Charlie has become obsessed with Angry Birds Star Wars, but we continued to tell him that we couldn’t get the app because it cost money (mind you, there is a free version, but go with it).
Over the weekend, we decided to allow Charlie to earn some money to buy the App himself. It cost $2.99, so wouldn’t you know, we had the task of doing dishes for which he could earns $3.00 and some change. Daddy worked with him – hand washing each and every dish. He kept talking about how he was doing work to earn money to buy the game.
He did a really great job and was able to earn his money! He then put 10% in a bank for church (we explained to him this importance) and the rest went right back in our pocket to pay for the full version of the game. He LOVES it! (And it introduced him to the Star Wars crew which he didn’t know about before).
And Daddy didn’t seem to mind playing it after Charlie went to bed either.
How do you teach your kiddos the value of money?

He is such a cutie. If he ever wants to earn a few dollars he can come over to my house.

I love this! It’s never too early to teach kids the value of a dollar. You definitely taught him a valuable lesson (including tithing!). Great job!!!
