Four.

To Charlie {on your 4th Birthday} –

Four years ago, I could not have imagined how my life would change. We had prayed and hoped and prayed some more for a baby to enter our lives and out you came. After a DAY FULL of labor, you stormed onto the scene at 10:57 p.m. SCREAMING. We were exhausted and I could hardly believe that you were finally here.

Here’s some things about you right now:

You attend preschool at The Farm and you love it. Two days a week, you get to spread your wings and I love that you are getting time to share adventures away from me. You also started Tae Kwon Do like big cousin Jonathan and you have finally gotten the hang of jumping jacks (you even earned your very first stripe!)  You are so smart. You catch onto things very quickly and sometimes I’m amazed at what you know. Just yesterday, you created an intricate maze for your LEGO people to play on – complete with finish line, food, and obstacles.

Foods you LOVE : Mac & Cheese, Subway Veggies sandwiches (probably influence from Rhonda & Sera Cupcakes), sweets, pancakes, cinnamon toast, carrots & broccoli and dip, and CHIPOTLE!

You are an excellent brother to Jack. You help him learn new things and although you fight, I know you love each other immensely.

You still won’t get out of your bed most mornings without calling for us. You wait until we come to greet you and then you feel ready to tackle your day.

You’ve taken a liking for Mario YouTube videos and you’ve become a master on the computer.

You still have two blankies…and that’s fine by me.

You LOVE to help do things in the kitchen – baking, cooking, mixing, you name it – you like to do it!

You have an infectious laugh, a beautiful personality and you make each day brighter. You are calm and collected most days, you don’t like to take risks and you don’t always jump to try something new. You are AMAZING with adults, you talk like you are 35 years old, and you just told me the other day to “cooperate” with you.

I know that “four” will be your best year yet and I can’t wait to share it with you!
