This past Sunday, we ventured out to the Chicago Marathon to watch Daddy (Jim) run for the second time. Last year, his time was about three hours and fifty-nine minutes. This year, we can happily say that he knocked about 16 minutes off his time and finished in three hours and forth-three minutes!
I think if anyone has the time (and patience) they should head to the Chicago Marathon at least once in their lifetime. From the paralympians to the Kenyans (an Ethiopian man won this year!), the entire event is a certain kind of inspiring (even amidst the vomiting and grown men crying thing). My mom and I, along with my niece & two older nephews, ventured to Orangeville by Moody Bible Institute since Jim was running for World Vision again and as always, caught him near mile 3 and mile 11. Then, we made a quick McDonald’s stop and jumped on the red line to see him around Mile 25.5. He was still going pretty strong, but I could tell he was definitely tired! (And my video didn’t work, so BOO!)
Congratulations, babe! You did fantastic and we are SOOOO proud of you! 2013 training coming right up! 😉
