Remember this?
I do. Like it was yesterday.
I remember praying so hard for a baby and then suffering two miscarriages.
I remember finding out about his existence and loving him from the moment I first knew.
I remember feeling him kick and sharing that special moment – just between the two of us.
I remember going into the hospital to have him and coming out…a long time later.
He is the baby that officially made us a mommy and daddy.
He was an easy baby. Like ridiculously easy baby and handled transitions with ease.
His hair was light blonde, then changed to a more muddy blonde color. Don’t dare call it yellow.
His eyes from blue to hazel.
He loved a binky & a blankie. He gave them up. Now he loves two blankies, trucks and cars, and a red Clifford carnival dog. He sleeps with all of them every night.
He is a great big brother {almost all of the time}.
He calls after his brother when he is running away.
I remember each milestone as if it was yesterday – the joy of his first word (ball), walking (just days around his 1st birthday), and the first two teeth poking out just in time for the Thanksgiving meal.
I laugh at his antics daily, I hug him daily just because, and I’ll never grow tired of my snuggle bug.
He is a true blessing in 38.5 inches.
He’s headed off to preschool tomorrow and I can’t believe just how quickly the past three and a half years have gone.
He is one of the best things we’ve ever done.

I may have shed a few tears….or a lot of them. It’s all so true. It’s like all that time went by in the blink of an eye. One day soon we will have kids who go to elementary school, Sam. Elementary school is a few years away. Now that is depressing.

Oh my word…you are right!! I’m clinging to that two more years….PLEASE!
