Reading has been an important part of raising our kids and Jim even read to each of them while they were in utero. Charlie, in particular, has a strong connection to books, reading, and learning. Jack is moving in that direction as well. Reading approximately 4-5 books per night, they love to read! Another element that we have slowly incorporated into their learning is the use of a computer. It’s amazing how quickly children can pick up on advanced technology.
We had the opportunity to review Sourcebooks’ version of Peter Pan. With bright colors, pictures and sounds, my kids were immediately drawn in. With follow-along words and swipe technology, it truly brings things to life. Another element of these books that I love is the fact that they are classics that I remember reading during my own childhood.
I also appreciate the fact that these books change things up in the home classroom. Instead of sitting down with a book, children can be encouraged to read along, look at the pictures and really engage with the storyline. Competing with television, Sourcebooks HEAR IT READ IT series helps to bring the reader to the next level of learning and reading.
We received a complimentary copy of Peter Pan for our home computers. All opinions expressed are our own.
