Do you have a BFF? Someone you could tell anything to, do anything with, and still love each other?
I do.
It’s her.
Eight months ago, she “introduced” me to him:
Oh hello, there.
through the Academy Award winning, “Never Say Never.”
My husband was less than impressed. Who knew I’d have so much in common with my twelve-year-old niece? {I should note that we love jamming out to his music and embarrassing our family members by dancing and singing it. Trust me, it’s about the music. And his work ethic.}
Fast-forward to two months ago.
I had, on a whim, told my niece that if J. Biebs came to concert (with his new album) soon-ish, I’d ask Jim for that for my {30th} birthday. She laughed, I laughed, and we moved on.
A short time later, I was on my way home from shopping with the little fellas when I heard, “Announcing new tour dates…” in conjunction with this pre-teen heartthrob. I turned up the radio, shushed the boys and much to my surprise, I learned that he, in fact, WAS going to be in concert. When you ask?
October 23rd & 24th – exactly two and one days before my birthday and exactly two and three days after B’s birthday.
Say Whaaaaaaaaaat?
Call it coincidence, I call it fate.
I rushed home, called my BFF, and we mutually screamed! We then plotted planned rationally on how we’d snag the tickets. Armed with smartphones, computers, and credit cards, we were prepared. Imagine my chagrin upon finding out the pre-sale started today (needed a special code) exactly 1.5 hours from the time we chatted. Um, where do I find the code? How do I get these? I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THEY GO ON SALE TO THE PUBLIC!!! AHHHHHHH.
So what happened?
The three of us (B, me, and my niece – for good cover of course – haha!) will be attending on October 23rd. And we bought the tickets during pre-sale. {One of us may or may not have joined to Justin Bieber Fan Club to get it…}
And technically, I’ll still be attending the concert while I’m in my 20s. So that makes me young….ish.
Laugh if you will, but I can think of nothing better than to celebrate my birthday with two of my favorites – my 12-year-old niece – and acting like 12-year-olds with my BFF. Do you Believe?
Ninety Eight Days….

The only song of his I know is the Sesame Street song, “Measure.” Oliver LOVES it. I think it’s OK. I’m glad you’ll get to go, though, and celebrate your birthday the way you want to!
