LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago is proud to present the Kingdom Quest Laser Ride!
Hear ye, hear ye! LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago is seeking the most brave and noble knights to complete a journey requiring great courage and skill. As of Sunday, June 3rd, the Center’s new Kingdom Quest laser ride is open to the public! Be a part of the LEGO-themed adventure as you climb aboard your mighty chariot and make your way through an ancient land of magic and dragons to save a captured princess. Use a laser gun to zap evil trolls and skeletons. Collect points for every evil creature you hit. At the end of your journey, compare your laser-zapping score with your friends, family, and fellow knights to see who is the noblest in all the land! Do you accept the challenge?
We had the opportunity to preview the new ride (as well as the rest of the LEGOLAND Discovery Center) earlier this week. Knowing that my three-year-old probably wouldn’t be the best judge of a ride requiring shooting skills, I enlisted the help of my nephews (ages 8 and 10). Here’s what they thought:
J (age 8) :: “It was awesome. I like the gun ride a lot. I liked making the cars, like Charlie was. The best part of the Kingdom Quest Ride was that you could shoot people.”
If he went back again, they first thing he would do is “build another animal thing!”
After the first go around with just the three of us, our scores were pretty low. A LEGOLAND employee offered to help my nephews find the best targets and she touted that she had scored well over 100,000 as her personal best. One ride with her and the boys scores vastly improved. They found hidden targets, different things to hit and learned a bit more about the ride itself.
Stay tuned for our full review of LEGOLAND coming later this week (including a giveaway for four tickets!) Until then, take the challenge of the Kingdom Quest ride! You won’t be disappointed!
**The Kingdom Quest laser ride is included with purchase of full price admission.
