A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting with Lynda Fassa, founder of Green Babies. Green Babies was born around the same time as the birth of her first daughter. With the philosophy that “natural is better,” this former Ford model wanted to take children’s clothing to a greener level. Like most mothers, Lynda believes that every child deserves the very best and safest products on the market.
Lynda began creating a line of children’s clothing out of her home in New York City. Sewing and screen-printing during baby’s nap-time, she created a line of clothing out of organic cotton that was also adorable! The clothing line took off and was featured in People magazine, seen on television, and worn by celebrity babies.
As she added two more girls to her family, Lynda’s interest in moving to a greener way of life expanded into a body care line. Made from natural ingredients, such as certified organic botanicals like chamomile, lavender, and sunflower, Green Babies body care line is safe for the most precious person in your life. Always free from synthetic fragrances, phtalates, parabens, sulfates, and petrochemicals, Green Babies body care line is made from natural ingredients without changing its effectiveness.
From the Energizing Bubble Bath, Lotion Potion Moisturizer, Calming Bubble Bath, and Baby Me Shampoo & Wash, the Green Babies body care line is affordable and can be found at your nearest Whole Foods Market or online. These cover the basics of hygiene for babies, toddlers, children, and even adults!
My personal favorite right now is the calming bubble bath. With the soothing scents of organic vanilla and lavender extracts, a warm bubble bath to clean up your family and prepare for bedtime will do just the trick!
Another one of my absolute favorite products is the Smooth Me Detangler. Frustrated with lengthy hair that snagged every time I combed it after my own shower, I talked to Lynda about possible solutions. With three daughters of her own with long, thick hair, Lynda created the Smooth Me Detangler as a natural way to remove the snags out of combing! I tried this as soon as I needed to comb my hair and fell in love. The smell is not overpowering and I know I’m not weighing my hair down with needless chemicals. (And I don’t lose clumps of hair just trying to make it smooth!)
As a mom, I am always looking for new products to enhance our life as a family. I also want to make sure that whatever I use with or on my child is safe, effective, and cost-friendly. That’s why I was excited to learn more about baby skin care products, especially in light of the recent reports about Johnson & Johnson. Green Babies is the baby of a mother who desires nothing but the very best for her own children and believes that our children should have the very best as well. Maintaining her mission for over 19 years, Lynda has created a line of products that treat our children the way they were meant to be treated.
Starting next week, I’ll be starting a “Green Mommy” feature here on The Peanuts Gang. Designed to lend helpful information to you (and myself!) about making life more green, I’ll be featuring more about Green Babies, Lynda & her mission, as well as other green products and ideas. I’m particularly excited about Green Babies sunscreen since my boys will never tan! If you have an idea about a future green feature, send me an email. You can also learn more follow Green Babies on Twitter & Facebook.
