After recently transitioning Jack to the crib for the entire night (the boys share a room) and dealing with some fitful nights of sleep, the lack of sleep finally caught up to me. We ran around most of the weekend and by 7 p.m., we had returned home with some laundry to do and I was exhausted. It must have been obvious because Jim offered to let me nap!
Jack had fallen asleep on the way home, so he was deposited right into the crib, I laid on the bed and was asleep within seconds. The room was pitch black and the bed was cozy. At 8:45 p.m., I heard the faint sound of Charlie crying. Getting his nose cleaned was not enjoyable for anyone. I walked out, talked to Jim and Charlie for a bit, and then decided to head back to bed. Jim walked away for less than one minute to grab Charlie’s pajamas and came back out to a fast asleep Charlie. He then deposited Charlie in bed fully-clothed and we hit the hay for the night as well.
I woke up to use the bathroom at 5 a.m. and heard Jack finally stirring. I snagged him and we were both up for the day. Ten hours of sleep for both of us was life-changing. Charlie woke up shortly thereafter.
And the fact that they both woke up fully-clothed?
An added bonus when preparing to head out for some grocery shopping!
Kudos to my hunny for sending me to bed early – w00t!

Getting a good night’s sleep after being deprived for awhile is awesome!
