Last year, we had the unfortunate occurrence of old pipes bursting under our kitchen sink. This left the wood & contact paper warped and unappealing. In an effort to make future clean-ups a breeze and to ensure that the water damage did not happen again, I found this pin on Pinterest that I wanted to try out. My friend, Colleen, in our Pinterest Challenge group tried out this same pin and liked it as well, so I thought I’d test it out in our own kitchen.
I purchased basic peel & stick tile from Home Depot in a stone pattern. I think they were approximately 69 cents a piece. Then, I simply cleaned out the area, wiped it down, let it dry and then stuck the tile in the cabinet as if I was laying a floor. A sharp razor assisted me in making precise cuts to line them up and help them fit. This project was very simple and for the home repair challenged like me? It was a breeze!
Here’s a photo of the finished product:
For our next project, we are looking at kitchen faucets and heading into that wild world of renovations!
Have you tried this pin? How did yours turn out?
