Craftaholic Mommy is actually my friend, Nicole! Nicole and I “met” over Facebook and I had the pleasure of watching as she created and began to build her business of customized sewing projects for children & adults. She has opened her very own Etsy shop and also updates new projects as she makes them and new fabrics as she acquires them on her Facebook page. She even made an adorable Bigfoot costume and customized treat bag for her son this past Halloween – so cute!
One of my favorite products that Nicole makes is her customized car rolls. Once I saw how cute they were, I knew Charlie had to have one to collect all of his cars! This particular car roll has been customized with corduroy, flannel, felt, and denim, but can be customized with a print/fabric that you love!
Here is the one she sent me to test out and review:
Completely folded up
Unfolded, unfilled
The inside, unfilled (How cute is that little road!?)
Filled with six cars!
Filled and all rolled up!
Snap closure
One of the best features of this car roll is the size. Charlie always wants to take 2-4 cars wherever we go. He can barely carry them and usually we wind up putting them in our pockets once we go anywhere. With the compact size once rolled up (even when full), I can toss it in the diaper bag and have it ready for him if we’re out and he asks for his cars.
It also makes for a fun (usually quiet!) activity if we’re out and about. He practices his numbers when he assigns each car its own “parking space” and the little road provides a great way to “race” the cars. The other way we use the car roll is at bedtime. Charlie also loves to bring his cars to bed, but finding them in the morning is always a pain! Instead, we put the cars “to bed” in their own spot in the car roll and then we roll it up. Charlie takes the entire thing to bed and finding them in the morning is simple!
Nicole also made the car spots slightly wider than is typical of Matchbox cars. If your kids are collectors of the larger Cars diecast cars, then you know those cars can be bigger! I asked Nicole to widen the spots and the car roll still works great, accommodating larger and smaller cars. The fabric is durable and easy to clean.
These car rolls will make a great unique gift! Buy one, fill it with cars, and you’re all set! But car rolls are not the only thing she can make! Check out all the other possibilities here. From a crayon roll to Art on the Go to pot holders to iPod cases, the customized products are endless!
The best part about Craftaholic Mommy is she’s a work-at-home-mom business entrepreneur! To my readers, she’s offering a 10% discount on anything you order if you tell her The Peanuts Gang sent you! This is a great chance to snag some really cute gifts for friends and for Easter baskets (might I recommend a crayon roll or tool belt?)
She’s also giving one of you lucky ducks a $15 credit PLUS free shipping! You can enter this giveaway using the Rafflecopter form below!
