In the past few months, Charlie has started to blossom even more! I thought I’d take a few minutes to write down some of my favorite Charlie things and to update a bit on his abilities!
His newest favorite food is “Duh-mpuh-lings.” I made them once, Daddy & he scarfed them down and he has asked for them ever since then.
He enjoys covering Jack with pillows and blankets. Charlie then removes said blankets and likes watching the scared/terrified/surprised look that Jack gets as he tries to catch his breath.
He likes being SQUISHED and SQUEEEEEZED by mommy and daddy.
He LIVES for Super Why.
He can say almost anything and it’s amazing just how verbal he becomes.
His bedtime routine with daddy takes, at minimum, 45 minutes, and now includes him reading (!!!!!) some books each night.
He can name MOST of the characters on “The Office.” (thankyoumommy for this one).
He LOVES the “dan-scene” and “scene-ning” shows (aka Dancing with the Stars & American Idol). He claps when the competitors finish and like most of America, can’t stand most of the dialogue.
He is currently learning simple addition and subtraction.
He LOVES sports and we watch the news together each morning to get our recap. He knows the sports’ names and the corresponding Chicago team.
He also knows (and has known for a long time) all of our favorites on My Fox Chicago (which does NOT include Tammi Sousa).
He can spend hours doing puzzles and has upgraded from the usual few piece wood puzzles to two – forty-eight piece puzzles (Dinosaurs & Toy Story).
He loves the latest pop hits and his favorite song will (hopefully) soon change because while it does have his favorite in it (letters), it’s probably NOT the best lyric wise for a 2 year old (the beat is AHmazing though…)
He enjoys his weekly deliveries from Poppy and now believes poppy awaits on the other side of the door each time our buzzer buzzes.
He talks about “Caff-ee, Sawah, and Emiwee” daily. We always tell him they are at home or at work and then he goes about his day.
He has tried coffee thanks to Daddy and Poppy.
He loves to help with the laundry…by unfolding it.
He has successfully pooped AND peed in the potty, but is not trained yet.
He still sleeps in a crib. Which is fine by all of us.
Jack LOVES HIM and enjoys just watching Charlie move about his day.
Mommy & Daddy love him also – very much so!
