As someone who would like to take her family to the next level health-wise, this book was a perfect fit. Chantel Hobbs lost over 200 pounds in her weight loss battle and in her newest book, “Love Food & Live Well,” she offers some fantastic insight into the 80/20 rule. The main concept is that 80 percent of the time you eat clean, pure foods to fuel your body – what it was designed to do. Twenty percent of the time, you eat things you LOVE and that taste amazing.
One of the most profound things she talked about in her book was how we continued to eat bad-for-us foods, even when they don’t taste that great! I considered times when I devoured something at a restaurant, even though I just considered it so-so. She encourages you to eat that food you LOVE and to make your body work for you. She also outlines the basics behind carbohydrates, protein and fat in a simple way to help everyone understand. I found her book easy to follow and incredibly encouraging.
My hope is to take some of her tips & hints and get that into my own family’s life as we embark on a healthier lifestyle. She uses her own life as a great example of loving food, but still living well!
