With 2 under 2, I definitely had my hesitations about how Charlie would take the transition. He seemed jealous when Jim or I would hold other babies and so I worried about what would happen when we couldn’t just “pass” the new baby off.
I’m still working on the remainder of my hospital story, so I’ll save the brothers meeting for that, but Charlie has been (for the most part) AMAZING. He rarely wakes with Jack’s cries, he has attempted to share his toys, and he (usually) knows how to be gentle. He literally butted heads with Jack the one day and likes to tickle his feet. He also attempted to use his wooden fishing pole from his puzzle to go “fishing” for Jack which melted my heart. He gives him a kiss goodnight before bed and while he does have the occasional look of “put that baby back over there where you found him,” I truly think he’s getting the hang of this big brother thing. As I look at my firstborn in the past two years, he takes transition and change surprisingly well with little to no real resistance. I think I could learn a lot from him.

Such a serious look on C’s face in the first picture. He looks like he is thinking why did you do this to me?
