Alert! Alert! Non-Picture Post Ahead!
The first year of Charlie’s life brought so much transition and new changes for him, but this second year, has really brought some new learning changes that have made our life very interesting! I love seeing how much he grows & loves to learns new things! I thought I’d add a few snippets about our boy to date.
*He knows most of his shapes (although has slight difficulty with the square) & recognizes/says most basic colors (green & blue being his faves).
*When we sing him the alphabet, he has begun to fill in the next letter if we pause for a moment. He does not consistently do this, but his little mind is constantly working.
*He recognizes letters wherever we go and enjoys finding them!
*He knows the number house we live in (6!) & how old he is (1!)
*I love how he counts! (Points to things in a row and repeats “Non, Non, Non, Non!”) He has also inserted “Three!” after I start, “One, Two…”
*He mimics how daddy reads books to him by pointing or making sounds (“Maisy Cleans Up!” – vaccuum cleaner & window washing)
*He can say the sounds of animals and enjoys saying “Buck! Buck!” whenever he eats chicken.
*He listens pretty well & can do simple commands, like throwing his diapers, bringing you his shoes, & starting to clean up/put things away.
Recently, he has had two “injuries” come his way. One – his face met the concrete after he abandoned sweeping the patio to chase the dog into the grass at a family graduation party (yes, my child cleans even when out at a party – thank his Momma for that) and Two – an accidental bee sting in which he “swiped” at a dead bee, mistaken for an ant, in our home & proceeded to scream upon realization that a giant stinger became lodged in the middle finger of his left hand. He survived & we at least now know he’s not allergic…
