Where has the last year and a half of our lives gone? The time has flown!
So just what is Sir Charles up to nowadays?
*Sat through his very first big-screen movie, “Toy Story 3” (non-3D) (17 months old) His momma who LOVES those movies has ignited the fire in him! He even knows how to say Buzz & Woody! He loved the first two also!
*Learned (although still indifferent) that he was going to be having a baby brother or sister in the same month as his birthday
*Has advanced his dancing to include hand movements & feet stomping (you’d have to see it) to his amazing repertoire
*He is SO smart! He follows directions very well, listens (most of the time), and even throws out his own diapers (usually).
*He enjoys building forts with daddy.
*He STILL hates visits with the doctor.
*His words have EXPLODED! He says so much now, including names, and recognizes many people around him. He loves playing the shy guy game, but eventually warms up once you stick around for a bit!
*Enjoys peeing on the floor (when we let him air out)
*Knows most parts of the body when we ask him to point to them
*He really loves hiding between the two couches, playing with his toys (some of his favorites include his 50cent Caterpillar Remote Control truck, Woody & Buzz dolls, Balls, Blocks, Chalk, Books, and Puzzles!)
*He knows how to put simple piece puzzle back together (about 15 pieces or less)
*He recognizes all letters (and has for a LONG time). He also recognizes numbers 1-10, can say them, and points out numbers 1-5.
*He still loves water. A lot.
*Shares well with others (a lot of the time) and “helps” with the babies in the family.
*He visited his very first MEGA waterpark & enjoyed time with his cousins.
*He LIVES for his cousins. He knows almost all of their names (in his own variations) and shakes with excitement when he sees them.
*Perhaps the biggest transition/change has been limiting binky & blankie time. Previously, he would carry the blankie around everywhere and constantly had the binky in his mouth. Now, those things are only available for sleep times & stressful times (which are not often). After each nap and each morning, he (usually willingly) places his binky by his froggies for safe-keeping and leaves his blankie in the crib to await him. This has caused him to be even more excited about nap-time, but it also shows more independence from these securities. I hate that he’s growing up so quickly!!
I love you, precious lamb! You are my first baby and my first miracle. I love you from here to eternity!
Love,
Mommy

I’m reading your post thinking, “This is what Oliver’s going to be up to next summer!” It’s crazy to think!
I’m very impressed that he can put little puzzles together.
Are you still teaching him some signs? I thought about doing that because I read toddlers understand gestures better than words. The problem is, I only know the alphabet in ASL and nothing else.
