In our first venture to a Moms & Me group, Charlie and I signed up for the Seedlings class offered at Brookfield Zoo. Starting one hour before the zoo officially opens, this class was perfect! We were already within the zoo when it opened, we experienced the Children’s zoo with hardly anyone else there and interacted with other kids close to his age!The general format is open exploratory time (viewing caged animals, sand, instruments, books, stuffed animals, etc.), storytime, meeting an animal up close, songs, and even venturing outside.
Our new Iguana friend!!!
Charlie enjoyed this class a lot! He stands up from a sitting position on his own now and really walked everywhere. He had the most fun with instruments, ripping the stuffed animals off the couch, the live animals, and sand time (so much so that he wouldn’t even sit for story time, just walked right back over to throw the sand all over!). I really enjoyed that the class was not overly structured and that we sort of had private entry for the zoo. I look forward to five more weeks of fun-filled adventure!
Storytime…
busy with sand instead!

I love how serious he is while playing with some of those toys. That’s how my brother always was, haha.
