After we spent some time at home, we headed to the Learning Express Toy Store to spend some money from Christmas. Charlie was smitten with some miniature (live) frogs, so we picked those up and he and daddy loved testing out all the toys. We think we’ve found Charlie’s latest hot spot!
We arrived home, fed Charlie lunch, attempted to let him sleep and then headed out for the big haircut (pics forthcoming). He did very well and only squirmed and whined slightly. She let him touch the clippers and he got to watch a movie! He even got a certificate with his picture and a lock of hair! We snagged a balloon and a small goldfish toy. We opted out of our 1-year pictures for the day because 1. That’s not too fun for him and 2. We didn’t think he’d give all the smiles necessary. So we headed to Toys R Us! He received a balloon, a crown, and we got some ideas of stuff to get when we downsize our clutter!
The final stop of the day was dinner. We headed to Key Wester for the birthday singing and the MASSIVE fish tank (with a specially requested seat). Charlie was enamored by these fluid creatures and I knew that it was a hit! He had fettucine alfredo, chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes and crab legs (sort of…). He and daddy even checked out the waterfall! Then, some of the waitresses came and sang to him – he just STARED at them! He didn’t know what to think! (He even got lei’ed!) A yummy dessert just for him (he ate about half) and a brief nap on our way home!
He ended the evening enjoying his new chair and acoustic guitar from momma and poppy! What a tiring (but very HAPPY) 1st birthday day! We love you, baby boy!
