Throughout the life of this blog, I have made it fairly clear that I am SO thankful for the little miracle God blessed us with back in January. Thanksgiving was especially special to us this year as it was Charlie’s first and our first with him. Jim and I ran a 5k (my first), while Charlie spent the morning with Momma getting some side dishes ready. Then, we headed over to Uncle and Mimi’s house for our traditional dinner! Charlie had the seat of honor (actually just soon-to-be Ethan’s) and the turkey plates were set. The menu for Charlie consisted of fresh cranberry sauce, turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, biscuits, juice (FIRST TIME), applesauce, green beans, broccoli and lemon jello. He also was shoving the food in SO quickly that he even bit his little finger, yelping and screeching – his OWN new sharp tooth left a slight dent. Poor thing! He started eating before all of us and ended long after. This was his biggest (and almost only) meal of the day and Charlie the Tank surprised us all. With a full belly (and nursing a SECOND tooth coming in – first one arrived the previous weekend), he spent the afternoon avoiding naps, hanging with the party, and just being himself. We then headed over to Great Aunt Mary’s house for fun with Jim’s family. Charlie enjoyed picking out his Black Friday bargains and eating pumpkin bars that Aunt Sara made (YUM! – which he enjoyed the next day as well). What a long and tiring day, but he was quite the trooper!!
