Charlie,
I have been dreading this day since the day you were born. The day when you would officially cross over into having spent more time in this world than you did inside of me. It seems like only yesterday that I carried you and felt you kick and squirm. Now, you hardly need me to transport you anywhere. You have spent the past nine months, growing, learning, and becoming the little boy that I now know.
Likes:
Mommy & Daddy (You smile so wide and now CRAWL to him when he comes home. You constantly look for us in a room.)
Blankets, any shape, size, texture. You love when we spread them out and you bury your face in them! (I think you get this from Daddy)
Binky…you like it, but can live without it…most of the time.
Magazines, papers, anything that you can rip apart!
Your ABCs on the Fridge – you LOVE when we play the letters and you like to scatter them about the room
Cooking! You love to be in the kitchen when mommy is getting things ready
Vacuums! It never fails – you find one and you follow it everywhere! You even cry sometimes when it turns off!
The TUB! You love to get in there and mess with your little toys – it’s hard to believe that just a few short months ago – it was your most dreaded time of day
Dogs, especially your newest friend in Harley – you’ve spent a LOT of time with her and she really seems to entertain you!
FOOD! (As always…you have thunder thighs, but a scrawny torso….How did THAT happeN!??!)
Bedtime stories – you love books and reading in general, especially when daddy reads to you – you REALLY REALLY like to “read” yourself now as well.
The Bumblebee Song – although recently, you try to BITE the bumblebee at the end!

*Size 3 diapers (occasionally 4s) and still well into the swing of Cloth Diapers
*The size of your outfits still change – you can wear any size from some bigger six months to nine months to some 12 months (!!)
*Officially pulling up and standing with some things around the house (and other things you can’t necessarily stand up with). You also like to stand up and bounce around.
Dislikes:
You are fairly easy-going and you go with the flow. You dislike when you are playing with something and it doesn’t do EXACTLY what you want at that moment. You have a VERY fiery temper and you DO NOT LIKE when we take something from you that you very obviously want. Unfortunately, Mommy and Daddy DISLIKE the fact that you’ve been waking up in the middle of the night for the past week or two. Can we PLEASE have the all night sleep again?!?
As I held your cousin and new friend this week, Daddy and I couldn’t ever remember you being so tiny! We see a big boy now – independent with a fiery personality. I can’t wait to spend the rest of life getting to know you better. For the past 18 months, you have truly been a blessing to our forever changed lives.
