Charlie,
Another month has passed and I can hardly believe how old you are! You are now officially closer to being one than closer to the day you were born. I love each day and the laughter that you bring.
Likes:
Mommy & Daddy (You light up every time we enter the room – you greet daddy with an especially big grin after he comes home from a long day at work)
Food, still – who knew?
Blankie (You aren’t particular at this point, but you love snuggling with one before a nap or bedtime.)
Pacifier (It’s official! You can snag it and shove it right into your mouth [and then let it go!])
Your exersaucer! You can make it all the way around on your own now – you love making the music!
Piano lessons! You love watching that little face moving back and forth – it’s your favorite part of the day.
Water, water, water!!!
Dogs, In general!
Sitting up consistently (You’re great at it now!)
Big ‘ole bear
FAMILY!!! (especially Uncle David during church)
Aunt Jessica (Kooks) primarily because she will give you custard
Firsts:
*Watermelon!
*Mangoes
*A Lemon!
*Slurpee (Thank you, cousin Kaeli)
*Ice cream and more ice cream (okay, this is more like a favorite, not a FIRST
*First time being babysat by Aunt Sarai and BFF Ryan
*First Kane County Cougars game
*We moved your bed in your crib down now! On your 7th month birthday, you became an official BIG BOY!
*First anniversary celebrated with mommy and daddy
*Tried Spring Veggies and Brown Rice (eh…so so)
*Prunes – after one serving, that proved to be enough for you!
*First time at the Zoo with Aunt Sarah
*Haircut…sort of…we removed the darker patches for your baby book – now your hair is ALMOST all one color.
*Something else happened that shall remain unknown for now – but we’re SOOOOOO excited! (P.S. NO charlie is not getting a sibling yet)
*Size 3 diapers (and ALMOST ready to try cloth diapers – more on that later)
*Size 6 months+ clothing – you never fit an outfit the same way and sizing just doesn’t seem to cut it for you!
Dislikes:
I still can’t say that there’s much you don’t like (Except for maybe when the food runs out or you can’t get somewhere that you want to go). We’ve discovered that you have quite the temper on you when you don’t get your way! Your scalp becomes bright red under that BLONDIE head of yours!
I love the fact that each day with you is never the same. Even though I’m sure your impending teeth are bothering you and you’ve become quite a crab apple on some days, I LOVE LOVE LOVE you to pieces. You continue to amaze me. I can hardly believe that we are nearing what will soon be the busiest time of year and your first birthday will be here before I know it. Until then, I will cherish each moment of your life – a blessing to ours.
Love you, always and forever,
Mommy
*On a sidenote, these monthly pictures have become increasingly difficult. It is definitely now a two person job between Mommy and Daddy. Daddy drops the sign, gets your attention and I snap the picture. But you have become WAY to smart for us. You manage to snag that sign and know EXACTLY when Daddy puts it down. You are not even swayed by toys!!
“See! It just falls on me!”
“I’m not touching it…”
“Got it!”
“Gimme that SIGN!”
