The day had finally arrived and we were prepared. We had washed and sterilized his bowls, spoons, and highchair. We had the bib with his name on it ready. (Thanks Chris, Alicia, and Malachi!) We grabbed the camcorder and the camera. We waited until he was in a good mood and mixed up a little bit of rice cereal (VERY SOUPY, Mom!)
Patiently waiting to begin
Testing it out
“I think I like it!”
Savoring…
All done!
Overall, I think Charlie’s first official time with solids was a success. In the past few weeks, we have secretly tried a small piece of a cupcake, 1 black bean, and some red jello from Poppy. He seemed ready for a while and by the end of the eating session, he would open his mouth to try it and less ended up on his bib. For now, we will do cereal once a day and let his system get used to it. Then we will gradually increase the sessions of cereal and add some fruits and veggies. I can’t believe how fast he’s growing up!!
