The day started out as it usually does – at 3 a.m. – as Charlie does lately, waking me up, out of his hunger. I feed him and then we drift back off to sleep…usually until 6 or 7 a.m. On Mother’s Day, I left a sleeping Charlie and walked towards our kitchen…following the smell of bacon. Jim had wanted to serve me breakfast in bed! (but I had spoiled the surprise). I was served a wonderful breakfast of french toast, bacon, and sausage! After reading two adorable cards (one from each of the men in my life), Jim’s gift to me was his day – long service (which had started with a pedicure the day before) and from Charlie – Wii Fit (per my request – which I LOVE).
We then made our way to church and I gave a shortened version of my testimony and how God brought us Charlie – I was overcome at just how awesome a blessing he is to me.
I lounged all afternoon – even napping for a bit – what a relaxing day! I ended it with fresh salad, grilled garlic bread, slow-smoked BBQ ribs, and a baked potato – delicious! (can’t forget the peanut butter n chocolate ice cream and brownies!) Thank you to my wonderful husband (and son) for making this my best Mother’s Day so far – I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with the two of you (and hopefully more!)
I leave you with just a few pics of our Mother’s Day.
