Last year, Mother’s Day was very difficult for me. I left service because it was just too painful to sit through again – now with a second loss in my history.
Little did I know, three days later, I discovered I was pregnant and had been so on Mother’s Day.
Now, one year later, I celebrate this day with my son, a true blessing and gift from God. This doesn’t mean a part of me doesn’t still long for my other two – to know what they would look like or to hold them close. On this Mother’s Day, I remember from where God brought me and my heart is heavy for the women who will experience this Mother’s Day, the Mother’s Day I had last year. My prayer is that God would use this next year to bring them great news and joy that I got last year.
Happy Mother’s Day to my own mother!
Happy Mother’s Day to my mother-in-law (and grandma, from Charlie).
Thank you, Charlie, for making me a mother! I LOVE YOU!
